[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hello, everybody, and welcome back to Movie Deputy Reviews, where we are going to talk about something today that is going to blow your mind. Now, why am I talking like that? Well, if you're on our YouTube channel, you know the movie that we are talking about today and you may be thinking, wait, what is this? Well, I. The movie I'm going to tell you about. And I'm going to tell you the title right off the bat, which I know sometimes I don't always do, but honest to God, this is the title of the movie. If you are not on our YouTube channel that you'll just have to take my word for this. But you want to come over here because you're going to want to catch this trailer. You're going to want to catch this review because this is a movie that you are going to either love to hate or hate to love. This is going to be one of those movies that is going to be a cult classic. Clearly, it's going to be a lot of people's favorites and it's going to be a lot of people's America's Got Talent style. There were people that got up and walked out when. When I saw this movie. There were people that sat there the whole time I did. There were people wondering what in the he double hockey sticks was even happening. Now, I want to warn you right ahead of time, there are. There's some strong language in the trailer that is not bleeped. So if you are sensitive to strong language or if you have little ears around, there are some F bombs dropped in the trailer that are not bleeped. And so I just want to kind of give you guys a heads up if you haven't already figured out this movie has a guilty rating. The movie we are talking about today is called Good Luck, have Fun, Don't Die. I'm serious. That is literally the name of the movie. It is a Gore Verbinsky movie and it is so far off the rails. I'm not sure what drugs they were doing when they wrote this or put this together, even started filming it. But it had to have been an absolute mind trip because this movie is a mind trip. In this movie, you have time travel, you have AI, you have Apocalypto, you have just everything going wrong that you could possibly have. It's taking all of those and mix it in with like the Walking Dead, Night of the Living Dead type zombification type stuff and then Illuminati. It's just taking everything and putting it all in one. When we get to the Score. You guys are gonna want to be prepared for that because it's definitely not what you're going to expect. And like, this is an absolute mind trip, beginning to end. Let's jump in with the trailer. And then of course, we will be talking about some more because this is a movie people have been asking me about since I saw it a couple days ago. And I'm telling people that it's like, okay, I'm here, and I'm here on the score because personally I want to give it one score. Critically, I want to give it something totally different. And normally I'm like here and here, off here. I'm here and here. Like absolute obsidance of the scale. Now, which one is which? That you're going to have to wait to figure out. If you're somebody I've talked to recently, you kind of know. But you're gonna want to sit through this because this, this is just a mind trip. And if you are not into stupid movies, if you are not into just the absolute absurd of absurd, just what. Why then this is probably not going to be a movie for you. But stay with me. Stay with me. This, you'll still enjoy this because this is just. Yeah, let's jump right in with it. [00:03:57] Speaker B: There's some shit that's about to come down that I can't prepare you for. It's going to try to give you everything you ever wanted. But in the end, it will all be a lie. Are any of you even listening to me? I travel here today to tell you that things do not go well for. [00:04:21] Speaker A: You in the future. [00:04:24] Speaker B: But tonight we got shot. There is a perfect configuration of people in this diner that can save humanity. What happens if we fail? [00:04:37] Speaker A: I really don't, like, don't want to know. [00:04:39] Speaker B: Kind of a morale killer. Somewhere inside of you, you know, way things are, the way we're heading, the way people are with each other. You know the world's going to shit. What means the dam is you people choosing to come along for this ride because you see the writing on the wall and you're ready to wake up and do something about it. There is a chance you will die tonight. [00:05:12] Speaker A: Shout the real bullet. [00:05:15] Speaker B: I truly believe you could be the group that saves the fucking. This is real? Pretty much, yeah. [00:05:34] Speaker A: Whoa. What the what? [00:05:40] Speaker B: Your entire lives have been building this night. It's going to be okay. Or it's not. [00:05:47] Speaker A: I don't know. Now, if that trailer confused you, do not feel bad because it is all over the place. You've got. Like I said, Take Return, Night of the Living Dead. I had to stop and think what it was. Take Night of the Living Dead. Mix in AI mix in time travel, makes it Apocalypse. And then take Sid from Toy Story and all of the toys that he kind of put together that were just so twisted. Add that in there. Add a living computer trying to think how else to put some of these. And you know me, no spoilers ever. Nothing even close to a spoiler. But basically, you've got this guy who's from the future and he's traveling back into the past because he has to put together this team of people. And mind you, he's done this before. He keeps coming back and retrying this, but he has to put together a team of people from the cafe that you just saw in the trailer. And the thing is, the team of people that he put together, they have to accomplish a goal. And in order to accomplish that goal, they have to get across the city of Los Angeles without dying. Well, like I said, he's done this before. So these different teams of people that he's put together, they keep dying. And of course, we don't get to see that. We just hear about it and you don't mean no spoilers. So we're good. We're good. But so the team that he puts together here, and this movie crosses so many boundaries and it's just. It's like it's there. There are things that should not be joked about. And to say that that Gore Verbinski is more than a little bit unhinged in this one. I mean, he makes fun of school shootings. It makes fun of human cloning, and it makes fun of just the whole lack of discipline and stuff with people. It makes fun of just pure fantasy. Because there is one point, a giant centaur kitty cat. You did hear me correctly, it is. It's that off the rails. But this guy, when he walks into this diner, nobody's going to take him seriously. I mean, he's walking in, he's got a bomb strapped to his chest. Multiple bombs, actually. He has got hoses and stuff that are oozing urine and other bodily fluids and functions all over the floor. And he's wrapped up like he looks like a homeless sci fi creature. A person is a human, of course, and how he plays into all this. He has a very key role in this. And it's his. It's ultimately his thing of needing to solve the problem to be able to have a future worth living for. And the thing is that it's not just that storyline, there's a couple storylines going on. You see some teachers at a school and you see some people at a diner and you see a princess character who has a very unusual health condition. And then you see these VR headsets that you saw in the trailer. And, and you're thinking, how in the world does all of this fit together? And honestly, I watch the movie and I don't even know I do, but I don't. It's that unhinged. It's like this movie is just. You think it's here and it's here. You think it's there and it's there and you, you're thinking it's one of the most idiotic, dumb, downright stupid things you've ever seen in your life. But you can't stop watching it. There's just something that keeps drawing you back. You're what? And you kind of keep expecting all this and you're like, but wait, who are these characters in the pig masks? Well, I, I'm not going to give that away. That would be kind of a spoiler thing going on with that. You know me, don't ever have to worry about that. But see, you've got the characters in the pig masks and you've got the giant centaur kitty cat and you've got the past and the present and the future and then you've got time travel and you've got the AI and it all hinges around a nine year old kid. Now who's the nine year old kid? Well, you get a glimpse of him in the trailer, but this kid is key to everything. Now what does that mean? Well, that you're going to have to find out if you can sit through this, if you can make it through this. And that's the thing where I'm so stuck because that's where I'm at with the scores. I've been telling people all week that I can't get it out of my head. Normally, like I said, my score like I'll normally be like sometimes two, sometimes a point and a half apart. This one, I am five points apart between what I wanted to give it and critically what I'm giving it. Staying true to the deputy scale. Now, I want to remind people about an important number on the movie deputy scale, and that is a seven. Because a seven on the movie deputy scale is the plot. It's memorable, watchable, of course, but plot with questionable content. Now the content in this movie is not just questionable, it's downright up. I did not say the word out Loud. But you know the word that I, you know the word I put in there? This. It is an absolute mind, mind mess. It just, it will screw with your head for a long time, even after you watch it. And it's one of those ones that you can't stop thinking about. And I, trust me, I want to start. And it's downright painful at times. And thing is, that's where I'm kind of at too. And that's where I'm talking about personally. I want to give it a two. Two is painful and confusing. And this story is so all over the place. It is painful. It is confusing all the way through. And the, like I said, the content messes with stuff that you should not mess with. I mean, there are, like I said, it's making fun of school shootings and all of these other things that are. That just crosses a line. But then it has all these other pop culture references and stuff in it that make it almost words, intriguing. And after all of this, you're thinking, okay, how is it going to end? It's. Then you start thinking, okay, it's predictable. And you start thinking, okay, this is what they're going to do it. Okay, this is how it's going to go. And okay, this is where we are and that this is going to solve it and this is going to be the end. And you get to the end and there is a twist that just completely fries your brain because this twist is so unhinged that you could take this movie that will offend every one of your senses. I mean, we don't have smell o vision yet, but there are scenes in this movie that are so putrid you can smell them. Just the whole like where you can get the visual in your brain and you can't help but go, ew. There are those points in this movie and it's so. It's so just messed up beginning to end. And then this twist happens and you want more. Now I realize how unhinged that sounds. But when this one ends, I. I can't wait to see what else will happen because the twist will leads into something more. Now, are we going to ever get that something else? Sometimes movies do this and we never get another part to them. But this one ends in such a way that the whole point in this, the whole movie all the way through, I'm like, okay, fives. And it starts dropping threes. It's like, okay, this is getting worse. There's. And then they start crossing some of those boundaries. I'm like, okay, this It's a. It's a flat two across the board. And then we get to this twist, and that is just where it is. There's questionable content and then there is just content that should not even ever be considered. And honestly, this fits in that category too. But as painful as it is on so many levels, you want more. And so for that reason, I am giving good luck, have fun, don't die. A very surprising 7 out of 10 on the Deputy scale. Now, do not say I didn't warn you because this movie will offend every one of your senses. If you have any sensibilities at all, this movie will offend them on every single level. But like I said, that twist is redeeming enough that you want more. I can. I can't imagine I'm saying this. I mean, I was at it. Like I said, a two for a good portion of the movie. Personally, I'm still kind of at a two, but at the same time, I want to watch it again because I want to. I want to pick up on clues. It's like, okay, did I miss something? And it just kind of has your brain going and it's like you're. It just offends every one of the senses. You may be thinking, what. What do you mean? Sight wise. Ew. Sounds. Ew. Hearing tough sounds and hearing same thing. Taste, touch, feel, smell you, it. You just. It's everything that is wrong with the movie. So why am I giving it a 7? It's because there as abs and I'm trying my best not to curse here. I use the F word like Monty Python on most days. And this one is one of those ones where when I've been talking to people about this movie, the F bombs have been flying. It's like, I'm not even gonna deny that in the least, but. And here I try to stay family friendly, so I can't do that. But like I said, I did warn you. It was in the trailer. But this is an absolute. Mind if you're watching our video, you know the word I inserted on there? I mouthed it, but I didn't say it. And like I said, it just is offensive in every way possible, but it does so in such a way that there. There's something to be appreciated here. And this is. This isn't like on the level of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back or like on some of the stoner type comedies. This is on a whole different level. At the beginning of this movie, Gore Verbinski came on to the screen before the movie started and he's like there you don't see original ideas anymore. Well, guess what? It is. But it isn't. There's inspirations from other movies. Like I said, you can see the Toy Story inspirations. You can see other inspirations here. There's, there's clear things that are inspired from other movies. So it's not 100 an original idea, but what's done here. This movie will go down in infamy because it's either going to be loved or hated. And I want to warn you ahead of time, this is not for everybody. A story like this is definitely not. But if you dare at least come into it prepared, this is opening. It's just opened yesterday nationwide. And if you are just looking for a mind, something that just screws with your head on every level, then this is going to be a movie for you. It's not supposed to be a typical comedy. It's not supposed to be a typical horror thriller. I, I don't know what it's supposed to be. It's a movie and it's not a good one. But like I said, there's something to it. So I hope you've had as much fun with this as I have. I cannot stop thinking about this movie and I have been waiting to bring this review to you all week. Do not miss out. We have got some extra special stuff coming tomorrow for you as well. And I, I just love this. So I hope you do too. Please, if you haven't already done so hit subscribe, turn on those notifications so that you can always get this type of contest. You get the latest and the greatest as I interrogate these movies for their plot and their content. And I'm going to be one of the first people to say that this is not a good movie. But it is. It's memorable. By far. It's memorable. It's of course watchable, but. Okay, I can't really say of course that it's watchable. Is that. That could be up for debate. But it's. It's memorable for all the wrong reasons. Plot with questionable content is an understatement. But like I said, you don't want to miss this and you want to come back for more. I can guarantee it. So until I will be back soon. Bye everybody.
