Speaker 0 00:00:00 Well, hello again everybody. It is once again your friendly deputy of movie deputy.com, bringing to you more interesting and intriguing movie reviews from a unique perspective that you definitely won't get hardly anywhere else, at least not from this perspective. I am actually just bringing to you today a short that appears before the new Disney movie, elemental, well, Disney, Pixar, technically, and the short is called Carl's Date. Now, if you're at all familiar with the movie up, that's where we originally get to meet Carl and Doug and the other characters that we see in this particular film, which are basically just Carl and Doug. But in Carl's date, it's just a quick, little short prior to the movie Elemental. And unfortunately, it's probably the best part if you did see this in the theaters, this is literally the best part of that entire movie. But I will get to that review here in a few minutes, so be sure to listen in to tomorrow if you wanna catch that.
Speaker 0 00:00:54 I am just really excited to be able to really dish the dirt on that one and everything that kind of goes along with it. But in Carl's date, uh, like I said, if you remember the movie up at all, you know how much Carl and Ellie were in love, and now that Carl's back home and he's got Doug to keep him company, he's got the opportunity to go out on a date and he's clueless. That's probably the easiest way I could say it. And he's, so, he's going around and he's all nervous and he's trying to get ready for this date. And as he's going around home, he's seeing so many things that remind him of Ellie and he's running across her picture. And it honestly rips your heart out. It it, at the same time, it makes you smile, it makes your heart glow with joy at the same time.
Speaker 0 00:01:35 It's so, such a mix of emotion. I, I just loved the way this played out, as you can imagine. It just, it, ah, <laugh>, like I said, this cute little short is it, it makes almost seeing the other one in the theater almost worth seeing, but not quite. So if you get a chance, I'm sure this won't be up on YouTube or something at some point, I'm not sure exactly when it usually gets leaked or something, or Disney, Pixar ends up posting it after a while, and I know eventually it'll probably be on Disney Plus too. So, uh, again, not promoting that stuff at all. I don't get any kickback or anything for mentioning any of that stuff. Just trying to let you know where you might be able to find this. But on Carl's date, I surprisingly did give a score of an eight out of 10 on the movie Deputy Scale.
Speaker 0 00:02:21 It was just so wholesome, endearing, and just wonderful that I just fell in love with it. So if you're just wanting something to just kind of brighten the mood up a little bit and just break your heart and put it all back together again in a million pieces. And sometimes there's beauty in the broken, as weird as that sounds, and this short really expresses that. So, like I said, if you're just looking for something, just, just something special, just keep your eye out. For this one, again, it's called Carl's Date, and it's one that you won't wanna miss.
