[00:00:01] Hello. One thing you're gonna get with Movie Deputy reviews is something a little bit different than what you're gonna find everywhere else. I mean, a lot of people offer no spoilers, so I'm not really that unique there. But I tend to look at movies differently than most other critics. Now, I have a large portion of my audience of you guys that appreciate that. And there's some that tell me where to shove it, and not so blatant of terms, but, you know, I welcome the feedback, both positive and negative. I'm not gonna call anybody out by name, but let's just say that sometimes those little inner voices should stay your inner voices, just because some of that stuff is just. I mean, I'm a critic. This is my opinion, and I'm sharing it with you guys. Like I said, a lot of people find it helpful. Cause I get way more positive feedback than I do negative. And so I just want to say thank you for all of those out there that keep coming back and checking out the reviews. You may not always agree with them, but it's always fun kind of to hear a different perspective on it. And today, the reason I'm kind of talking about the whole inner voice is today we're talking about a short called Inner Workings. Now, this is a Disney short that actually played before the first Moana movie. Now, I probably should have looked that up before I started doing this recording today to make sure that it's still available on Disney plus. And I'm actually looking that up right now. I probably should have done that. Like I said beforehand. It's going to take me just a second here to find out, yes, Inner Workings is actually available on Disney plus. So that's good to see. It is rated G. And it's a comedy and a fantasy, which I normally don't focus a whole lot on that. But I am giving it an innocent rating on the Deputy scale. And the score, it was actually right up there pretty much with the first Moana score. Now, you may be wondering why I didn't put this in between the movies. Well, I wanted to kind of keep the theme of the story going. I don't want to break up the idea of the story.
[00:02:10] And that's actually one of the reasons I haven't gotten to another movie that's in the theaters right now, because I just actually saw the first one, and I need to actually rewatch the second one and get those up. But that's good. That's a whole other story in Inner Workings. It is about a gentleman named Paul and he works for a watch company. And he just lives an average life. He's an average man, average life, just going through the motions. But while he's going through the ordinary, there is something absolutely extraordinary happening. And it's what's going on within his own body. It's the different parts of the body that tell other parts of the body what to do. And it's how our brain, I mean, think about it. Every time, the way you wiggle your finger, every time you wiggle your toe. I mean, if you hear your stomach gurgling every time you take a deep breath and you can feel your heart beating, those are all signals in your brain, electrical signals that are telling your body to do different things. Our stomach tells us when we're hungry. Our bladder tells us when we need to go to the bathroom, et cetera.
[00:03:14] And that's what inner workings is all about. And I actually want to share with you the original review that I'd had up on mobydeputy.com Paul is an average guy. That leaves.
[00:03:26] Okay, let's start that one again.
[00:03:28] I'd say that's all, folks, but this is not the end. Paul is an average guy that lives an average life. He wakes up, gets ready for work, goes to work, comes home and repeats the process over and over. There's something extraordinary about his ordinary life, though. Everything he does in life is controlled by his inner self. His stomach tells him when he's hungry. His bladder tells him when it's time to go. But none of that works without the brain. Only Paul's brain is working overtime. Every time he thinks about something, there's something that gets in the way.
[00:04:07] Try as he may, he wants to break out of the box, but the box seems to surround him. Just when he thinks that there's no hope, he decides to do something in spite of himself.
[00:04:20] Where will this new adventure take him? Come along and find out. This is an incredible short about the simplicity and complexity of choices, how we can overthink ourselves into oblivion or decide to take that leap.
[00:04:40] It's truly a lesson for all ages.
[00:04:44] Now, I really hope that got your curiosity. No, I don't get any special bonuses for telling you to go check out Disney, but that's the only place to find this. And there is just something about this. You're probably thinking, okay, if you're so, I mean, great at this, what's the score? I gave inner workings an 8 out of 10 on the Deputy scale and for a short, that that's really a feat. Because to tell a story well enough to earn an 8 in such a short period of time just really shows the complexity and the simplicity. Like it says a story such as this, and it does so without being in your face, just informative and entertaining at the same time. So I implore you, if you have Disney or if you know somebody who does check this out. You will be glad that you did.
[00:05:37] And like I said, it's just a short, so it doesn't take very long on this one. But I would love to know your feedback after you check it out. So as always, you know which buttons to push and I will be back soon. Bye.
