[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hello, my friends and welcome back to Movie Deputy Reviews. As you can tell, I am still not talking the greatest. I am actually going back to the doctor tomorrow due just to the significant amount of pain that I'm still having on one side of my face that over one week post surgery. I should not still be in this much pain and still have this much trouble talking. But I wanted to, of course, bring you this review and you may be noticing. Wait, this isn't Ready or Not too. But ready or not 2 doesn't make any sense without the first movie.
So if you have not seen the first Ready or not yet, I highly advise checking this one out if you are planning on seeing the new one, as there are a lot of references that you are not going to understand if you have not seen the first one first, if that makes any sense. So I thought I would start with this one now and then I will be back with the next one for you just as the next review that we have up. So obviously this movie is getting a guilty rating. If you hadn't figured that out already, just based on the blood splatter because of the poster. And if you have not. Like I said, if you haven't seen this yet, this is.
I always say if I laugh during a horror movie, that kills it. But these are meant to be funny. These are meant to be gory comedies that are just absolutely messed up on multiple levels, but they're done in such a way that it is entertaining. So, yes, I am giving Ready or Not a guilty rating. Come join me with the trailer. And you'll probably see why we're gonna start the count.

[00:02:08] Speaker B: There's just one more thing. And then you are officially part of the family.
So at midnight, you have to play a game.
It's just something we do when someone new joins the family.
[00:02:21] Speaker C: A game?
What game?
[00:02:26] Speaker A: Hide and seek. Are you really going to play that?
[00:02:29] Speaker B: Well, the rules are simple.
You can hide anywhere. We then try to find you.
[00:02:36] Speaker C: So there's no way for me to win, right?
[00:02:38] Speaker B: Stay hidden till dawn.
[00:02:40] Speaker A: No, thank you.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: Good luck.
[00:02:45] Speaker A: What's the catch? You're about to find out.
[00:02:51] Speaker B: What the hell is this? How old is this thing?
[00:02:55] Speaker A: I know you're in here.
[00:03:02] Speaker B: Oh, Jesus. You shot the maid. Does she look like she's wearing a giant white wedding dress?
[00:03:07] Speaker A: Emily.
[00:03:09] Speaker D: Holy.
[00:03:09] Speaker B: I had to play long so that I Could get you out.
[00:03:12] Speaker A: Insane.
[00:03:14] Speaker B: They think they have to cut enforce on us or something very bad will happen to the family.
If we don't find her and perform
[00:03:20] Speaker D: the ritual, we're all dead.
[00:03:24] Speaker A: Found her.
[00:03:28] Speaker D: Damn it, Emily. I don't know what I'm doing.
[00:03:33] Speaker B: And today's video is called getting to know your crossbow.
[00:03:38] Speaker A: I forgot my gun.
[00:03:39] Speaker B: Why don't you just use mine?
[00:03:41] Speaker C: This is Adonis.
[00:03:42] Speaker A: I just saw her gun.
[00:03:45] Speaker D: Oh, my God.
[00:03:49] Speaker A: Your fucking family.
[00:03:51] Speaker B: Here's just another sacrifice.
[00:03:59] Speaker D: This is a game.
[00:04:03] Speaker B: Yes, I did see you wanted to get married.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: So are you ready for the movie? Well, as you can tell, it's gory, it's absurd, it's over the top, and it is wrong on so many levels, but in the right way. This is one of those movies that you watch it and you're absolutely appalled that you watched it, but then you want to go back and watch it again.
Now, I do realize how ridiculous that that sounds, and that's just part of it. I do want to share with you the original review that I had had up on moviede.com on the our website.

On your wedding night, it should be a night of magic. This particular bride will experience a wedding night unlike any other.
She is marrying into the Le Domas family.
Upon an outsider's entry into the family, a game must be played.
How that game is selected is a bit of a game as well.
The card that is drawn literally places her life on the line.
What should be a simple game of hide and seek becomes survival of the fittest.
As any game, there are winners and losers. How it all plays out is intricately evil. While being intense throughout this story is not for the faint at heart, there are violent and gory situations throughout the entire story.
When the truth behind what really started this tradition is revealed, the line between the winners and the losers will forever be blurred. It may not be for everyone, but it will surely become a favorite to many.
Will it reach cult classic status?
Who knows? Maybe it already has.
Like I said, this one, it just kind of crosses that line and it stays there.
I want to show you what he did with the podcast image. I just kind of changed it up a little bit because I couldn't really fit the whole ready or not. So I ran it vertically on that.
But that'll be the podcast image that you see, of course, on the podcast itself or over here on our YouTube channel as well.
So what is going to happen with this bride? Will she.
Will she be able to remain hidden until dawn?
Well, as we have a sequel, I think you know the answer to that. But it's not as simple as that, so don't worry. That's not a spoiler, but like I said, it is revealed at the end of the movie. The origin of this and how that plays out is sets the stage for the second movie. Like I said, you need this one for the other one. So if you are looking for just for something absurd and funny and gory and obviously you can tell there's a lot of language as the F bombs dropped in the trailers and the trailer on that one.
But like I said, it's definitely not going to be for everybody. But if you take a chance on this, I think you'll be glad that you did.
I have I gave Ready or not a 7 out of 10 on the deputy scale. It is. Like I said, it's wrong in so many ways, but it is entertaining. I've watched this numerous times since this came out back in 2019 and when they announced a second one I think I literally squealed. I was super excited. I could not wait to see what they did with it.
