[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hello, my friends, and welcome back to Movie Deputy Reviews, where you probably thought I forgot about you today, but nope, I am here. I'm still not talking. The greatest. I went back to the doctor and having a few minor complications with some of the healing that's going on here and a few other complications we had during the thing means my recovery time is going to be a bit longer, which means I'm just kind of stuck like this for a while. I'm not wired shutter or anything like that, as you can see, but it's just. It hurts. So I don't want to dilly dally. I want to just kind of jump right into this. If you caught our show on Wednesday, you know that we are talking about the Ready or Not that came out in 2019. So I promised you Ready or Not to today. I apologize it wasn't up this morning, but I'm back. I always promise it's going to be an adventure and that it's definitely proving. It's definitely proving to be true, if you hadn't already guessed. I am giving Ready or Not to a guilty rating. I don't know if you caught the first one, but if you haven't yet, you definitely need to catch it before you see this one. There are many references in this that don't make any sense without the first one, so I hope that that's something that you will partake in before you dive into this adventure with me, but as all. Or at least stick around for the adventure, but before you dive into the movie. So I want to share with you the trailer of the Ready or Not two that just came out. So let's check it out together. Okay? For some that don't realize the bloody wedding dress scene is from the end of the first movie. And don't worry, it's not a spoiler that she survived. But obviously we wouldn't have a sequel if she didn't. So let's see how this plays out. Thank God it's over. Or so she thinks. [00:02:22] Speaker B: You've caught. [00:02:23] Speaker A: If you haven't already guessed, there is strong language in this one to kind of give you guys a heads up. [00:02:27] Speaker B: That was quite a stir, Ms. Snadonius. You married into that family. Now they're dead. What you didn't know is that this goes far beyond them. By surviving hide and seek, you've triggered a new game, this time against the High Council families. Double or nothing. This part will be familiar. They will try to kill you. Welcome to our home, hunters. May the best family win. [00:03:01] Speaker A: Escape me. Screams [00:03:05] Speaker B: the game begins in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. [00:03:20] Speaker A: I'm not playing. [00:03:22] Speaker B: Okay, Pernella, kill the sister. [00:03:28] Speaker A: Now, if you caught the first movie, you're like, who is this sister chick? Well, that will also be explained. No, no, no. God damn it. Don't run. Whoever wins runs everything. Everything. The world can't believe he dragged me out of. It's exciting. Well, exciting for me. Clear. Wow. I mean, where do you even begin with something such as that? Yeah, we're going to get into that a lot deeper here in just a second, but I want to share with you the podcast images. You can see the poster is here. And if you're over here on our YouTube channel, if you are on our podcasts, feel free to come on over, check out our YouTube because this is where you get the video. This is where you get to see, like, all the faces. Because it's one thing hearing the voice, but it's another thing relaying the faces. Because I can't necessarily always control the. What my face does when I'm talking. I just kind of. Just kind of go with it. Do you get the. Oh. Ow. I can't do that yet. Sorry. I just made a really funny face and it pulled on the muscles in a bad way. Not doing that again. But let's just show you the podcast image. So I just kind of squared it off a little bit there, trimmed it up a little bit, so it didn't make anything drastically. Two changes on that. But obviously, if you're on our podcast, you saw the image already, but this way you can compare it to the original poster, if you like. But now in this one, we see Grace, and obviously, like I said, we know that she survived the game of Ready or Not. But there's a twist at the ending of that movie, and there's also a twist at the end of this one that. That could lead. That could indicate that there's still more yet to come. We get a very satisfying game of basically hide and seek again in this one, because she gets to play round two, and now she is fighting to control the world only. Is that what she really wants, or does she just want to survive? Well, when she wakes up, her sister Faith is by her side because she was still contact persons. And you saw from the trailer there that she ends up in the hospital. And what do you do if you end up in the hospital and you're unconscious? They call your next. They call your next of kin, your emergency contact. And that is how Faith joins the game. But how. Why exactly does Faith end up caught in all of this mess. So that will explain itself as it plays out, as these families kind of come together and you see patricide and you see all of these other things that are happening. The first one had very much to do with Le Bail and kind of a satanic thing kind of that. But it's a comedy. These are like the. The. I always say if I laugh at a horror movie, it kills the score right there. But these are ones that are. You're. You're supposed to laugh at. These are supposed to be just absurd and just where you're shaking your head and just. You're going, why? And like, the first one, this one is abnormally and maybe unnecessarily to the point of gory, but it's funny. I mean, it's just. It's stuff that would absolutely never happen. And when you see some of this, you have to have a strong stomach for some of the gore in this. This one is just. Oh, they both are. But the gore level, the blood level. And there's only honestly, like, two scenes in this whole movie that the blood actually looks like blood. I don't know if they had a less budget or what they were dealing with, but she's fighting all of these people because one family wants to be the head family to control basically the world. And that is kind of explained a little bit at the very beginning of the movie. So if this is one that you go see in the theaters, make sure that you show up on time, because there's kind of a pivotal scene at the very beginning that you're not going to want to miss out on. If you sit through the credits, there is a. There's a little bit of an audio at the very end that, like I said, just kind of hints and plays off of one of the final scenes to kind of indicate, hmm, are we gonna get a ready or not? 3 I honestly kind of hope so. I mean, this one, it's not cinematic excellence by any means. This is just gore and horror and comedy to just be that. It's. If you're expecting some deep thought process, deep story, deep plot movie, you're going to be sadly disappointed. But if you are coming for something that is just gore, horror comedy for. Let's say you guys are into that kind of movie where you don't care about the substance of the movie, you just want to be entertained and the gore doesn't bother you, this is going to be one that you'll probably enjoy. If not, I would avoid this one completely because this is not for the faint of heart. Like I said, I'm giving this a guilty rating, but the score might surprise some of you if you caught what yesterday's score was. We did come down a little bit for this one because the first one has a lot more intricacy to the story as it plays out, whereas this one, it's just kind of the same thing playing out over and over again with slight differences. So that does kind of hurt it a little bit. It just kind of makes it just where you're just kind of going, just kind of the whole eye rolls like oh come on, can we just get to the next scene? Can you get to the next thing that's going to happen? So ready or not 2 I am coming in with at a 5.5 out of 10 on the Deputy scale. Does that surprise some of you? Maybe. But I hope that it is going to be entertaining for you either way, even if this movie is not for you. I hope that you have enjoyed that you enjoy these types of reviews as you kind of get what I honestly really think about these movies. And though I'm no longer in the 300 words or less category, I do try to make it fun by sharing the trailer and the commentary and like the trailer reaction. Of course the movie review itself, which is a little unorthodox, but I try to keep it entertaining at least when I'm kind of like this. So as always, if you haven't done so already, please subscribe and turn on that notification bell so you get the latest and the greatest movie Deputy content. I will try to be back with you again soon. I'm actually going to try to record tomorrow's review right back to back after this one. Is that one that you're going to want to check out? Well, I hope you come back. It is another movie that came out this weekend and it has similar a similar tone to this but it's completely different. So. And then there was a special movie that had a one time show. Yeah, just a. I think it was a one time showing or maybe it's a limited time showing. It's called the first him and that I was going to have that review up this weekend but I think I'm going to do that for Monday's show. So if that's a movie that you are interested in as well, please come back and check us out. Like I said, make sure to turn on those notifications so you can get the latest and the greatest when these reviews go live. But as always I will be back soon. Bye everybody.
