The game is over when John decides it's over... but wait, John's dead... isn't he... There's more to this than there seems to be...

Original Review:

Rigg completed the task expected of him but not without alerting the FBI. Now that the feds are involved, things are going to get even crazier. Agent Hoffman finds himself in an extraordinary situation where he no longer has a choice. The sequence has begun and must finish if there is to be anything left at the end. As the pieces line up, Hoffman will be drawn to someone from John's past or is this person drawn to him. Once they meet, a plan will commence that will explain everything up until this point. Hang on though, it's not what you might think. This story brings a lot of the how and why together but goes in seemingly unusual directions. This is why I said hang on... Clues will reveal themselves to tie in the past/present/future if there is a future to be had (by those involved at least). In order for that to occur, something must happen, someone must do something so unthinkable that it pushes the boundaries (even for a jigsaw movie). What it reveals in doing so will definitely change how you think about what has happened up to this point. Is this the end? Now that we know the what and why? or is there more... We'll have to wait and see.

[00:00:00] Why, hello and welcome back to another Thirsty Thursday where we are dissecting and interrogating the Saw movies. We are up to Saw Five this week and I am excited because in a couple weeks we are getting Saw ten. Can't believe there's ten movies in this series. And if you have been following along with our Thirsty Thursday episodes, we are going one by one until we get through all ten. Now, you may have noticed that the ten point is going to come out in OD place compared to the rest of these movies, but don't let that dissuade you from these Thirsty Thursday episodes. Whether you've ever been a fan of the Saw series or not, it's not that it's a series, but the series of movies. These ones will grab your attention like no other movie has done before. Horror movies have attempted what Saw has done, only to fall short. Saw has now done ten of these movies and each one building on the last. Now mind you, some of them are better than others by far, of course, but they all lead us somewhere with this direction that they go. Where that direction leaves us, we may be wondering it once it's all said and done, but it's never as simple as it seems. This one in particular kind of goes a different direction because there are two completely separate stories taking place at the same time. And ultimately the game is over when John says, but wait isn't dead. Hmm, maybe there's more to this than what we realize. So I'm going to jump right in and before I share the score or anything, obviously this is a guilty rating I'm going to share with you the original review that was posted on Moviedepity.com. Rigg completed the task expected of him, but not without alerting the FBI. Now that the feds are involved, things are going to get crazier. Agent Hoffman finds himself in an extraordinary situation where he no longer has a choice. The sequence has begun and he must finish it if there is to be anything left at the end. As the pieces line up, hoffman will be drawn to someone from John's past. Or is this person drawn to him? Once they meet, a plan will commence that will explain everything up until this point. Hang on. Though it's not what you might think, this story brings a lot of how and why together, but goes in a seemingly unusual direction. This is why I said hang on. Clues will reveal themselves to tie in the past, the present and the future. If there is a future to be had by those involved, at least in order for that to occur, something must happen. Someone must do something so unthinkable that it pushes the boundaries. Even for a Jigsaw movie, what it reveals in doing so will definitely change how you think about what's happened up to this point. Is this the end? Now that we know the what and why? Or is there more? Well, we'll have to wait and see. [00:03:41] Well, obviously we know there's more because this was only the fifth movie. And like I said, as of later this month, in two more weeks, there will be a Saw Ten. I don't know about you, but I'm excited. Now, as many questions as this movie answers, it leaves so many more unanswered. Saw Five only got a 4.5 on the Deputy scale, and you may be wondering, why did it get so low? Saw Five is actually the lowest of the Saw rated the Saw movies so far, but that doesn't mean that it's not watchable. If you remember, on the Deputy scale, a four is still watchable. But forgettable this one. Like I said, though it answers a lot of questions, it leaves many more unanswered. Even though there's the two stories intertwined, then it's a lot more than just two people. Mind you, I say two stories, I'm not just meaning two people. [00:04:41] I don't mean to be confusing or too vague on that, but it's important for me to distinguish that considering what's going on. And it's just really important to understand. And really you need this one to understand the next couple of ones as well. Because both saw six and saw three. D the final chapter both reference things that are happening here in saw five. So if you have not seen these movies yet, be sure to watch them in order of release. Now, mind you, I say that for a reason, because some of these timelines jump around a little bit, but it's important to watch them in order released to understand why the stories are being told in this order. If you've ever been a fan of Jigsaw, check this out. If you're not a fan of Jigsaw and just enjoy the reviews, I hope you're having fun. Ultimately, I can't wait to see what you think of the whole thing as a whole. And then after we talk about all ten Saw movies, I'm going to have a bonus episode over on our Movie Deputy channel just discussing these. So if you have any questions that you want to submit to me, please feel free to do so and I will be answering that on that bonus episode. Ultimately, I hope you're having fun. Please like subscribe and share for the latest and greatest Movie Deputy content. And I hope that you have an absolutely fabulous Thursday. Feel free to go over and check out our upcoming movies episode for our upcoming movies shows. For the movies that are coming out this weekend. There are a total of 26 movies we talk about on that show this week, so be sure to go over and check that out. And I will be back tomorrow with another movie for you. Bye.
