[00:00:00] Hello once again, and welcome back to another episode of Movie Deputy Reviews, where I know I've been away for a while, as you knew, if you listened to the podcast in the past and you've been following along. You know, I'm recently getting over being sick. Well, kind of had a bit of a relapse, but that lost my voice for a few days. Still in the process, sorry, trying to get it back. Still got a little bit of a remaining cough. Fungal pneumonia is no joke. Brought with bronchitis and then adding a sinus infection. It is an up and down journey, so it doesn't take much to set me back a few paces. But I've been seeing a bunch of movies in this timeframe, so I am excited to be able to come back and let you know what I thought about them. And we are going to start off with one that definitely deserves mention. Now, I am going to break protocol a little bit here, and I'm going to give you the score before I even tell you what movie I'm talking about, which I know is incredibly rare. But this movie is getting an astounding 8.5 out of ten on the deputy scale. Now, I do believe that that is one of the highest ratings I have ever given to an animated film. Now, you may be thinking, wait a minute, animated? Yes, because today we are talking about the wild robot. This one, I kind of was trying not to have high hopes for it, but I wanted to have high hopes for it based on what I had seen in the previews and everything. On this. It's like, okay, this looks absolutely wholesome. It kind of gave me iron giant type vibes based purely off the trailers. And then I went to see it, and of course it's like I tried to level down the expectations because we know how Hollywood likes to go Hollywood, and they take something that has the capability and the possibilities of being such a wholesome, just heartfelt film and just ruining it by adding in a bunch of modern stuff that just does not belong.
[00:02:02] And I was really surprised that DreamWorks did not go there with this one. DreamWorks is the creator of this film, and what we really get with the wild robot is you get something. There's a bit of a cross between the ideas of WalL E and the iron giant. It's neither of those scenarios, but you get the feels of both of those as this movie is playing out. Quincy, will you stop that? Quincy's picking on stormy tonight. So her this morning on this. So my apologies. But with this one, you see the Rosm 7134 she is a helper robot, and she kind of just crash lands on this planet and finds herself just unable to understand any of the dialect of anything that's going on around her. And so she uses her programming to kind of study the world around her. And in doing so, she learns the languages of all the animals. Now, of course, this is not a spoiler or anything like that, but kind of along the way, she inadvertently has an accident, and so she's left with this little tiny Gosling that is the runt of its litter, and she has to help it, or basically, it's not going to have a chance. And little Gosling, zero zero one, is just the sweetest little thing. But she has no clue what she's doing. And the most unlikely person to help her along this journey is a fox that wants to eat the Goslingen. So, of course. But, I mean, it's not. There's nothing scary or intense or even just something that'd be too much for even the youngest of audiences in this, as it plays out, you're watching her interact with these animals and you're watching her help this little gosling grow up, and you're watching her develop friendships and eventually her, the industry that created her, finds her and wants her back. Well, she doesn't want to leave. And so I'm not going to spoil it and tell you how that ends and tell you what happens. What happens to the gosling, what happens to the fox, what happens to the island, all of this. There's so much that's going on in this story, and there's so many memorable moments. And one of the lines that got really just right in the heartstrings is that we must become more than we were programmed to be. And it's kind of like the line in iron robot is you choose, choose who you want to be that you get to choose. And that just resonated so deeply with this, and it's just.
[00:04:53] It really gets you right in the feels. And it doesn't matter if you are one or a 101, there is something in this movie for everybody. So, of course, I'm giving this an innocent rating, and again, I'm giving this an 8.5 out of ten on the deputy scale. I've recently noticed that this film is not really hanging out a whole long time in theaters. I'm not sure why. And it's already available to rent on digital video. If you have Amazon prime, I'm noticing rental cost is like $24.99, and to buy it is $29.99. Well, if you've got a big family that's still cheaper than going to the movies, and trust me, this is one that you are going to want to check out. I don't get anything by referring you to these different things on all this. And eventually, this will probably be on one of the streaming platforms, too. And if it does, and if you don't have the money to rent it, this, when this does eventually make it to Netflix or Hulu or like one of those, check this out. This is gonna be one that will be a favorite for many throughout time. This is just gonna be one of those timeless classics that lives on through everybody else. Now, you may be thinking, okay, that's great. That's it. But should you choose to watch this, or if you can find a theater where this is still playing and you go watch this, wait all the way through the credits. I know sometimes that's really hard to do, but wait all the way through to the very end because after all of the credits, there is a bonus scene.
[00:06:34] And this bonus scene will just, it will melt whatever you. The part that you have left after this movie, if it hasn't completely melted by then, this bonus scene will melt it the rest of the way. Like I said, it is just wholesome on every level. There is nothing that is inserted in that is inappropriate for any age of yours. And like I said, it is just such a touching, wholesome thing that just teaches us to value life and cherish life and to love those that we can and really try to make a difference.
[00:07:16] And so I hope that you go see this. I hope you take something away from this. Definitely reach out to me. Let me know what you think of this movie. Let you know. Let me know what you think of the review.
