[00:00:01] Speaker A: Hello, my friends, and welcome back to Movie Deputy Reviews. We are talking about a Netflix original Netflix movie called Ladies First Today. Now, this one is. It is funny for all the wrong reasons. It is everything that misogyny is. And everything is basic on Steve. I think the opposite of misogyny is just feminism, which I'm not really a fan of that either. Yes, I am a woman, 100%. My husband can attest to that. But I do not subscribe to the whole feminism thing and I don't subscribe to misogyny either. I think it. I think both sides. I mean, if it. It was. If it's all one way or all the other, it's. There's toxic masculinity and toxic femininity and I know I am going to get hate for this. Absolute. Absolutely, without a doubt. I am getting hate for this on just about every level from both sides. So I'm just anticipating that ahead of time. I actually watched this during my recovery process and like I said, it is. It's wrong, but it's intentionally doing so. It's intentionally being as obnoxious as it possibly can be. And it's just the whole point of it. Is this guilty? Absolutely. The scenes, the language, just the entire subject matter of the movie. This is not safe for the Littles at all. I would definitely recommend 17, 18 plus. Like, I wouldn't even recommend Teenage for these ones. It's. This one is supposed to be over the top. It is supposed to be in your face and it is supposed to be obnoxious. Now, acknowledging that I don't necessarily knock movies for that when they are everything that they are promising to be. I mean, look back, like what I gave Deadpool back in the day. Deadpool, I gave a very high score, but it was only because it promised to be obnoxious. And it was. So where am I at on this one? You're gonna have to stick around and find out. Like I said, it is very guilty, Guilty, guilty, guilty on that one. But let's jump in with the trailer on this one. I think there's going to be some people that get a kick out of this. If you've got little ears, you might want to put your headset in because there is. There's quite a bit of foul language in the trailer. Just to kind of give you a little bit of a heads up on that one. [00:02:36] Speaker B: Once upon a time, there was a man named Damien. Ruby. I've got a high priority project for you. You cannot legally make me break. Break up with one of Your girlfriends. [00:02:46] Speaker A: My bad. [00:02:47] Speaker B: He was an asshole. Fortunately, this story is also about a woman named Alex. We meeting up later at the pub for happy hour. Oh, wow. I think my happy hour days might be long behind me. Oh, I wasn't inviting you. The clients want to increase their female market share. Above all, women just want to feel heard, right? I think they want to be heard. Alex, I'm in the middle of night here, but it's so good to have you in the room. I really appreciate it. [00:03:13] Speaker A: That's one of the many obnoxious points that I'm talking about. [00:03:17] Speaker B: What a punchable face. There you go. Can you tell us what happened, though? Are you on any medication? The pill. [00:03:29] Speaker A: The pill. [00:03:30] Speaker B: Look up to that pre fit. All right. What? Ruby, get me an ice pack. Shall I pick up your dry cleaning as well? She's a leader. [00:03:39] Speaker A: Damien, what are you doing doing in my office? [00:03:41] Speaker B: What are you talking about? This is my office. Don't laugh at me, princess. Jesus. Good Lord. He needs to knock one out. This is not my house. Now you go to Beatrice iii. I spy my truth. Whose fucking cat is this? She's a lead. Women are in charge here. What? It's a sl. Where the hell am I? Hey, Damien, that's my go. How do I get out of it? You make a change. But she ruined those who face it. She's got style, she's got grace, and she don't taste. Amongst these gems is the premier testicle bra. They'll make a little fellas fly. Take me back. Shit. You stole my job. [00:04:31] Speaker A: You need to relax. [00:04:33] Speaker B: I'm just getting started. You see the golden map? [00:04:37] Speaker A: He wants to sit at the BE [00:04:38] Speaker B: girl's table, the board and Emmy balls. I mean, CEO of my balls. The delicate sacks that dangle from your body with the slightest tap, send you weeping to the ground. Yes, She's a baby. Can you change your time? No, I'm a man. [00:05:06] Speaker A: Like I said, it is as obnoxious as it comes across. You go from a world that is entirely misogynistic, where men basically beat their chest and show how big and tough and powerful they are, and women basically are nothing. And he gets a knock in the head and he ends up in a world that is absolutely the opposite, where women are the one in with the ones in charge and he is nothing but basically a peon. And I love the comparison to the whole balls thing. It's like that whole Betty White thing that she did years ago of comparing, like, balls to the pussy. Forgive the language on that, but it's Basically, the pussy could take a beating. The balls cannot. So it's like, why don't we just say that men need to have a pussy instead of men need. Or, like, women need to have bigger balls? I could go down a whole different path on that. But, yeah, this one is like, if you. If you like those types of obnoxious comedies that are just the extreme of making fun of both sides of the feminism side of it and the misogyny side of it, then this is one that is worth checking out on Netflix. And there's not a lot on Netflix that I recommend, like this one, but I did recommend Frankenstein, and that's also on Netflix. But this one, yeah, this is a comedy that you will find yourself laughing at, and it will just. It's gonna make you cringe in multiple places. It's. It's not meant to be a good movie. It's meant to be funny. It's meant to be, like I said, obnoxious in just about every way imaginable. That being said, there are. There are some flaws here that are not as noticeable, but they're. They're still there in all their. In all their glory and all their details. So while I'm giving this a guilty rating, I'm giving ladies first a 6.0 out of 10 on the deputy scale. They said it's everything it promises to be, but at the same time, it's still. It's lacking in a few areas. And so I. That's why I'm coming into the score where I'm coming in at. It's watchable, it's a good story, but there's some flaws to it still. So that would be right at that 6 out of 10 on the Deputy scale. As I've explained before, and I kind of got some heat on the other day's show about this a little bit. My scores do not equal percentages. So six out of 10 does not equal a 60% on, like, the tomatometer thing. But if you're curious about the score, you can check out our Movie Deputy channel. I have an entire program that deals with talking about the scoring system that we use. And then I also have the original scoring system on the about me page on moviedebity.com and of course, this is Movie Deputy reviews.
