Jigsaw takes the game much further than we've ever seen... Are you prepared?

Original Review:

To live or die has been a choice in all of Jigsaw's games... Or at least it was, this time things are a bit different. For the first time, all of the people involved have a common connection. The tie that binds them all together could be the key to life or death. Alongside the basic test, John/Jigsaw is also testing someone else. John will find himself facing a life and death dilemma of his own. Step by step, the truth will begin to reveal itself and the line that separates the choices becomes blurred. As the game comes to a close, the results will shock you like never before. Clearly, this goes beyond where the Saw franchise has gone up until now. It also has more of a story development that defies the others. The gore drew the viewers to hate or crave more, but the development of the how and why of the ones chosen to play has been somewhat of a puzzle until now. Here, we get to see why John is the way that he is. What was it that pushed him to this point? Are you prepared for the answer? Those are difficult questions to ask and to answer. If you have the stomach for the Saw movies, this fills in a lot of the previous missing pieces. If you're not a fan of gore, then this is one to miss. Obviously not for young audiences, the content goes further than ever before.

Speaker 0 00:00:00 Well, hello everybody and welcome back to the movie Deputy podcast where we are on week three of our Thirsty Thursdays and we are gonna be talking about saw three today. Now, if you've been following along, we did saw one, saw two, and we are going in order through all 10 saw movies. Now you may be thinking, wait, there's only nine saw movies, but the 10th one opens up later this month and I am so excited for it. I have an unusual obsession with these movies. I have to admit, I have watched these over and over again and I honestly think it's the fact that Jigsaw is always giving the ones involved, the chances to live. So it's not just the fact that he's out to hurt these people. Well, not just to hurt these people. All of the people involved in these movies have done something and have pretty much gotten away with it. Speaker 0 00:01:03 And what Jigsaw does is he makes them pay for what they've done. Sometimes that cost is just a little bit more than others, but these, there is just something to the story that these are told the way that they're told. And you might be wondering, okay, how can anybody watch a story like this and appreciate it? But when you really follow how the story has gone along, and then with this one here being Jigsaw three or saw three, jigsaw three, it really explains why John is the way he is. And it really goes deeper into kind of testing that whole thing. Now, mind you, the whole thing of why he is the way he is is I've seen all of these movies except for the new one and it plays out both in this and then the next two movies, they're all, they're all tying back to reasons that he is the way he is. Speaker 0 00:01:58 So this is just going to be a part of it. Like I said, these are going to be our thirsty Thursday programs until we run out of these and then we are going to switch gears to something else. We have so many of these movies that I have reviewed over the years of where there's so many movies in the sequence that just kind of continually tell the story. And with each one of the jigsaw movies, you're thinking, okay, that's it to the story, right? That's all there is. No, there's way more, there's way, way more, more than you even realize. And like I said, there's a brilliance to this, but you have to be able to stomach the blood and gore to do it. Now there's a lot of really bloody, really gory movies out there that are just gory for the sake of being gory with this one and with all the saw movies, there is always a method to the madness. Like I said, you have to have a strong stomach to watch these though. I mean, I try to give people that warning ahead of time. 'cause these are not movies for everybody, Speaker 1 00:02:58 But there is a brilliance to the way it's told. I mean, horror has always been horror. I mean, from The Exorcist, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I mean, there's been some really, really bloody disgusting movies that have come out over the years and <laugh>. These are no different, but these are different in the way that there is a much deeper story to each of these, and that's kind of kind of go where we are going with this one. So like I said, it's always an adventure to come along on these, and you're probably wondering, okay, what did you give saw three for a score? Well, if you can't guess already, I gave these a definitely a guilty rating. Every one of the saw movies is Beyond Guilty for the guilty rating. These are not for young eyes, innocent eyes at all. Yeah, these are definitely a bit much even for some adults. Speaker 1 00:03:51 So yeah, this is not safe for any age, but saw three actually earned a six out of 10 on the deputy scale. And I would like to share the original review that I wrote with you To Live or Die has been a choice in all of Jigsaw's games, or at least it was this time, things are a bit different. For the first time, all of the people involved have a common connection. The tie that binds them all together could be the key to life or death. Alongside the basic test, John is also testing someone else. John will find him himself facing a life and death dilemma of his own step by step. The truth will begin to reveal itself, and the line that separates the choices becomes blurred. As the game comes to a close, the results will shock you like never before. Clearly, this goes beyond where the soft franchise has gone up until now. Speaker 1 00:04:52 It also has more of a story development that defies the others. The Gore drew the viewers to hate or crave more, but the development of how and why of the ones chosen to play has been somewhat of a puzzle until now. Here we get to see why John is the way he is, what it was that pushed him to this point. Are you prepared for the answer? Those are difficult questions to ask and to answer. If you have a stomach for the Saw movies, this fills in a lot of the previous missing pieces. If you're not a fan of Gore, then this is one to miss, obviously not for young audiences. The content goes further than ever before. No, I know that. I just kind of basically wrapped up what I was already describing about the movie, but it just kind of, I can't say too much without spoilers and you know me, no spoilers. Speaker 1 00:05:49 But this one, like I said, it goes further than you could ever imagine if you have never experienced these movies. It is important to experience them in order as they kind of play off each other as they go. And that will be even more important from here forward. As with these Thirsty Thursdays, we are showcasing each one of the Saw movies in order of release. Now you're noticing I'm seeing an order of release because one of these movies along the way will be a little bit out of order, but I'm not gonna tell you which one, and you're just gonna have to wait and find out. So I'm hoping that you are enjoying this journey and hopefully I'm leaving you thirsty for more. So be sure to come back every day for a different movie Deputy podcast and stay tuned every Thursday for our saw series. Until later, bye-bye.
